We’re once again offering an intensive and experiential training to deepen your skills and knowledge as an herbalist with Clinical Herbalist and educator Feather Jones.

This program is open to anyone who has completed the first year program or has a basic but solid foundation in western herbal therapeutics, medicine making and formulation strategies. Two field trips are included, 2 nights in Cave Creek campground, Chiricahua Mountains in southeastern Arizona, and 2 nights outside Durango Colorado in late summer in the high country.

Wild Harvesting Botanical Field Trips

Chiracahua Mountains, Cave Creek, Arizona

May 16th-18th, 2023

Cave Creek Canyon, two nights camping in the sky island country of southern Arizona. 2:00 p.m. afternoon herb walk to ranger station. Next morning to the desert for replenishing our herbal pharmacies, flower essences and herb processing at the picnic tables, evening hike to the vista for full moonrise. Bring music, songs or your favorite story.

Durango, Colorado Southern Rockies, Colorado

September 19th – 20th, 2024

Two overnighters high country camping for osha, possible sweet cicely, rabbitbrush flower essence, rosehips, etc., kava ceremony, certificates and closing circle.

November 12th, 2023

Nervous system continued, Immune materia medica, reishi monograph, autoimmune, chronic fatigue, environmental sensitivities.

December 3rd, 2024

Cardiovascular system, materia medica, monographs on hawthorn and ginkgo, reflexology, facial diagnosis.

January 14th, 2024

Continuing cardio with hypertension, hypotension, arteriosclerosis, case study. Urinary tract therapeutics, materia medica, kidney stones and UTIs, UT formulations, dandelion cordial preparations.

February 11th, 2024

UT continued. Respiratory materia medica, pleurisy and grindelia monographs, tobacco treatment, allergic rhinitis, COPD, brief review of biofilm herbs.

March 3rd, 2024

Continuing respiratory. Prepare osha-wild cherry syrup.

March 24th, 2024

Review upper, lower GI system materia medica, IBS, ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease, neutralizing cordial preparations, Chinese rhubarb monograph, laxatives, tonics and alkalinizers. Formulation sheet.

April 28th, 2024

Desert sampling harvest. Finish up GI therapies.

May 16th-18th, 2024

Chiricahua Mountains field trip, Cave Creek Canyon, two nights camping in the sky island country of southern Arizona. Stewart Campground, 2 cars per site if needed, 2:00 p.m. afternoon herb walk to ranger station. If Stewart is full, try the Idlewild campground. Next morning to the desert for replenishing our herbal pharmacies, flower essences and herb processing at the picnic tables. Bring all your tools. Early evening short hike to the vista, bring musical instruments for a magical night of stories and songs under the starry sky. Saturday morning short class on P450 detox pathways and potential PA toxicity.

June 16th, 2024

Immune continued, herb/drug interactions, heavy metal toxicity. Desert herb sampling, flower essences.

July 21st, 2024

August 18th, 2024 

Plant ID and sample wild harvesting in the canyons, bring lunch. A few new plants to meet. 

Symptomology and assessment, intake forms.

Durango, Colorado root and berry harvesting tripNeed to get permits on Thursday before 2:00 pm at ranger station. Meet up for dinner in town. Two overnighters (18th and 19th) high country camping, kava ceremony, certificates and closing circle.
