Hello fellow Herbies!
The time is coming up for our desert field trip, which has been scheduled for May 4-9, 2015! I’m really excited that everything is shaping up and I expect it to be a great 6-day trip.
For me every year is like seeing the desert with new eyes. There are a lot of different ways to heal the body & the mind, just being in the desert is one of them. The ancient people say the desert cures, I can see why. Standing under a 200 year old Saguaro cactus gives one the feeling that they are in the presence of an old soul. After a quick spring rain, a Chaparral bush gives off 50 different volatile oils perfuming and charging the air, and the desert floor becomes a colorful carpet of wildflowers with Owl Clover, Lupine, Golden Poppy, and Datura.
Expect us to be identifying approximately 50-60 plants, talking about 40-50, and Wildcraft Harvesting about 20 to 25.
Exquisite vegetarian/vegan meals will be prepared by our very own camp chef Mary Giardina each day (breakfast and dinner – additional $100).
I would encourage you to bring musical instruments, poetry, costumes, songs, games, dreams, and visions to share around the campfire.
